Hillarys is the northern suburbs alternative to North Mole. You can find all sorts of species at this spot. There are several specially built fishing platforms, but you also have a huge amount of rock wall to explore. Just watch your bait as there are some cheeky stray cats that hang around the area.
If you’re fishing for a feed, then its worth going for some Yellowfin Whiting or Herring as you will often get some results. However, if you’re keen to hook something with a bit more go, it’s not too uncommon to find some small Snapper hanging about and some Silver Trevally (Skippy).
Hillarys also has a great boat ramp for those that want to launch their boat straight on the ocean instead of the river.
