This is a productive land based fishing spot in Metro Perth. There are 2 rock groins on this beach and they are known for producing Yellowfin Whiting, Salmon and Herring.
It’s best to get there early in the morning or in the evening as you don’t want to have to put up with the sea breeze and also in summer there are some fishing restrictions, so make sure you check the signs.
Try using a long, light rod with 4kg line class, this will let you feel the bites of sand whiting and also let you fight some of the larger salmon that cruise the coast. A good simple rig is a running sinker and a size 4 long shank hook if you’re looking for a feed of whiting. A bit of prawn for bait is nice and simple and very effective.
